PM Modi launches “Swadeshi” 4G stack + 97,500 towers

PM Narendra Modi today launched BSNL’s indigenous 4G stack, marking a significant step toward telecom self-reliance in India. This move highlights the government’s push to reduce dependence on foreign technology and strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure.

Along with this, 97,500 new mobile towers have been commissioned across the nation, out of which 92,600 are 4G-enabled. This large-scale rollout will not only boost connectivity in urban areas but also help bridge the digital divide in rural and remote regions.

What makes this project futuristic is that the 4G system is fully cloud-based and can be seamlessly upgraded to 5G in the coming years. This ensures that India’s telecom backbone remains adaptable to rapid technological shifts while empowering the country’s ambition to be among the global leaders in next-gen connectivity.
